TIME MEGEVE 2013

I participated in the 10th Time Mégève Mont Blanc this weekend. In terms of preparation! I
think I did the maximum with the weather TIME MEGEVE 2013 conditions we had and my
availability to do a good race over 4 hours and 2600mD+. My last big training
10 days before with 4 hours @ 240wavg and the
2500mD+ held around 285/295w had given me confidence. Also a super
Gimenez done 15 days earlier where I reached 300w for the first time
over 45 min. In short! 10 watts more than in 2012! everything seemed ok. Especially since I
was counting on a peak of form with 10 days of sharpening
scrupulously respected by reducing my training load by 40%! without volume therefore
and with short intensity.

Charge ++ then sharpen for 12 days

Unfortunately!
in sport you can’t control everything and here I am at the start with
stuffy bronchi! a messy nose! practically country email list speechless the day before… the weather TIME MEGEVE 2013 forecast at the start of the
season predicted a cold day with a good chance of rain. At the start
the road is dry and the sky clear! which is just as well because given my condition I
wasn’t going to start in the rain…
The
first descent is neutralized due to the state of the road and the second descent of Les Saisies
will be as well. At times it is no longer a road but a pile of holes in fact… Very good initiative from the organizers in any case for the safety of all.

From the start! I’m stuck. I tell myself that the precarious warm-up is perhaps
the cause. But after 40 minutes of effort where I can’t exceed the 270w
for the 295w hoped for! I tell myself that it’s affiliate and referral programs are effective going to be long… no strength! that’s all. At the
summit at 1600 m it’s 10 degrees for
mid-June… there’s snow all around… The second pass! the toughest of the
day! is that of Bissane via Villard sur Doron with 1000mD+ for barely
12km. It doesn’t start any better! 270w then 265w to finish @260w… well it’s done!
day without strength! without anything.

Atmosphere at the summiT

I’m feeling really bad! I go down and turn off at Flumet to go straight back to Megéve!
taking it easy on the short 85km route with 2100mD+… No need to make book your list myself
sicker! I haven’t even been caught in the rain! that would have been the cherry on the cake up there at 1700m in
the fog.
